I nominated this to be checked up for neutrality, because despite the danger that's posed by this act, the article is written very favorably, without discussing the dangers of a piercing. I think at the very least, it should be looked at. Khargas (talk) 05:53, 27 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I see what you mean. Stephen Kinch (talk) 05:16, 13 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

What are you on about? It highlights the risks which are HARMLESS. And even states that loose jewellery can lead to the wearer swallowing it. It is completely neutral. Sephz0r (Talk) —Preceding comment was added at 17:37, 5 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Neutralised and verified. It was written from a biased POV in favour of piercing. Fences&Windows 00:28, 12 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The only content in this article is a brief description and the health risks. IMO it needs some work and additional content to be labeled NPOV. Some basic needs would be further info about the first known modern piercers doing this (Jon Cobb with assistance from Paul King), explanation of the controversy surrounding the procedure within the piercing community from members of Gauntlet and APP like Michaela Grey. The article right now lacks any historical content and provides so little to readers it is difficult to call it much of anything but a brief explanation of procedure risks, while it does accurately describe those risks I doubt piercing advocates of recipients of the procedure would call this article unbiased - in this case it is the lack of information and context that is biased. See the BME/Radio interview of Jon Cobb by Shannon Larratt and Jim Ward's Running the Gauntlet for more complete coverage and insight into this highly contentious issue that is highly relevant to the social debate surrounding body modification. My uname is JaDubya93, Id like to help out a bit by contributing content to this piece as time permits. 76.111.244.85 (talk) 17:41, 17 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

infection rate for uvula piercing

[edit]

maybe there should be a section about this type of piercing and infections. I'm wondering if there is any increase in infections just after the piercing and what the infection rate is at 30 days. --159.178.230.248 (talk) 12:04, 22 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It is virtually unheard of for this piercing to become infected. The mouth is highly resilient to infection from minor cuts -- otherwise people would be getting infections from self-bites. The bigger problem with this piercing is that it tends to reject. I don't think such a section is relevant.Snowrail (talk) 18:48, 3 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Wow

[edit]

People seriously do this? Just when I thought I'd seen every attention-seeking, moronic act there was to see some idiot goes one step further. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.136.18.206 (talk) 02:31, 13 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

What does it mean to be Thirsty?

I see it's linked at the bottom, but it doesn't go to a definition or an article, but rather a disambiguation. DazzleNovak (talk) 06:21, 2 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
